Richard L. Mcgathey

Richard L. McGathey, 69, of Nelsonville, passed away August 15, 2003 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital after and extended illness. He was born January 6, 1934 in Hocking County, son of the late Pearl and Thelma Pauline Miller McGathey. He was married to Judy Windle McGathey of Nelsonville.

He was retired from General Motors, Mansfield Plant as a tool and die machinist.

In addition to his wife, Judy, he is survived by 2 sons, Paul Faith McGathey of Mansfield and Steven Tammy McGathey of Nelsonville; 2 daughters Sue Ball of Palm Harbor, Florida and Gail Hasty of Columbia S.C.; 5 grandchildren Jason, Daniel, Laura, and Robin McGathey, and Rhett Hasty; 5 brothers Pearl Arlene McGathey of Florida, Bob McGathey of Mansfield, Don McGathey of Nelsonville, Bill Barb McGathey of Florida, and Wayne Jan McGathey of Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday August 19, 2003 at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan with Rev. Filmore Ashcraft officiating. Interment will be at New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Monday August 18, 2003 at the funeral home.
