Irene Mcquaid

Irene McQuaid, 93, of Nelsonville, passed away Friday, August 22nd, 2003 at Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville. She was born October 13th, 1910 in Logan, Ohio, the daughter of the late Wesley and Sylvia Johnson Teal. She was the widow of the late William Marshall McQuaid who passed away in 1971.

Irene was a homemaker all her life. She dearly loved her family, sewing, cooking, gardening, and her special apple tree. She previously attended the Nelsonville Christian Church.

Irene is survived by sons Donald McQuaid of Tampa, Florida, and Gary Charlotte McQuaid of Plant City, Florida. Daughters Jean Fouty, Ruth McDaniel, Marleen Brown, and Sheila June McQuaid, all of Nelsonville, Judy Wray of Logan, Carol John Meyers, Patricia Irene David Hartshorn, both of Breman, and Jane Roger Reed of Junction City. Irene had 45 grandchildren, 86 great grandchildren, and 45 great, great grandchildren, and a brother, George Lucy Teal of Mt. Vernon.

In addition to her parents and husband, a daughter Barbara, son George, sister Monabell, and brothers Oscar, Jim, John, Melvin, Bobby, Frank, and Charles preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, August 27th, 2003 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home with Roger Reed officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery in Nelsonville. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday, August 26th, 2003 at the funeral home.
