Kathleen Lorraine Higgins

November 17, 1922 — October 3, 2003

Kathleen L. Gerber Higgins, 80, of Rockbridge, passed away Friday, October 3rd, 2003, at Willow Brook Christian Home in Worthington. She was born November 17th, 1922 in Marietta Ohio, daughter of Floyd and Zelda Caskin Gerber. She was the widow of the late Richard Higgins.

Kate was retired from the National Board of Boilers and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. She was a faithful member of the South Logan Church of Christ, and she loved to travel, and did so throughout her lifetime.

She is survived by a daughter, Sheila Doug Rebertus of Rockbridge, son Stephen Sandra Higgins of Mt. Gilead, daughter in law Sandie Bolin of Texas, Dee Joe Nelson of California, who was like a daughter to her. Grandchildren Kathryn Jose Garcia of Texas, Stacey Paula Evans of Westerville, Stefanie Jim Corbett of Laurelville, Emily Rebertus of Rockbridge, Sean Valerie Higgins of Blacklick, and Richie Higgins of Columbus, 13 Great grandchildren, 4 Great Great grandchildren, brother Charles Pattie Gerber of Idaho, many nieces and nephews, family and friends, and her beloved pet, Mickey.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kate was preceded in death by a son, Dan Bolin, grandsons Brian Bolin and Scott Evans, a brother Wayne Gerber, and a sister, Corrine Jensen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, October 11th, 2003, at Cardaras Funeral Home in Logan with David Myers, Bill Hopkins, and Wayne Andrick officiating. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Cardaras Funeral Home in Logan. Interment will be at Homestead Cemetery in Rockbridge.

The family wishes to thank the Willowbrook Christian Home of Worthington for their exceptional care of Kate. Contributions may be made to the home in memory of Kate at 55 Lazelle Road, Worthington, Ohio 43235.
