Iva Marie Gibbons

Iva Marie Gibbons, 93, of Columbus, formerly of Nelsonville, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2003 at First Community Village, Columbus. She was born December 10, 1910 in Mingo Junction, the daughter of the late Purl J. and Lenna Carrie Ross Tucker. She was the widow of Lloyd W. Gibbons.

She attended services held at the First Community Village, Columbus while it was her residence.

Iva is survived by five daughters, Barbara Hemsworth of Florida, Shirley and Paul Flanigan, Marilyn and Alfred Deal, Beverly and Kelvin Walker all of Columbus, and Phyllis and Harold Rowan of Gahanna, one stepdaughter, Marjorie and John Jewett of New Plymouth, she was blessed with 27 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, three sisters, Jean Haddox of San Diego, California, Mildred Soposnick of E. Hampton, New York, and Wanda Pennington of New Jersey, one half sister, Cora Morris and one half brother, Wesley Tucker both of Cleveland. She is loved by many nieces and nephews and will be missed by many friends from First Community Village.

In addition to her parents, Iva was preceded in death by a grandson, Greg Hemsworth, a step granddaughter, Susan Davis, two stepsons, Lloyd D. and William Gibbons, a step daughter, Jeri Pergrin, two sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 13, 2003 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville with Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Saturday, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice at Riverside and Grant, 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43214.
