Van Buren Hamilton

Van Buren ?Martin? Hamilton, 73, of Buchtel, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2003 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains. He was born May 14, 1930 in Harlen County, Kentucky the son of the late Eugene and Grace Lewis Hamilton.

Mr. Hamilton was retired from Ohio University.

He is survived by a very special niece and nephew, Sharlene and Terry Rose and a loving granddaughter, Amanda Rose all of Nelsonville, a son Ricky Hamilton, of Virgie, KY, a special friend and companion, Helen Lowery of Nelsonville, a sister, Lucille Bryant of Virgie, KY, four brothers, Larry and Wanda Hamilton, Paul and Kathy Hamilton, Elbert and Betty Hamilton all of Jonancy, KY, and William ?Doc? and Peggy Hamilton of Fort Wayne, IN and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Ray Hamilton and Curt Hamilton and a sister, Pauline Jacques.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville with Tim Nelson officiating. Interment will be at Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel. Friends may call Tuesday, December 16, 2003 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
