Melvena M. Russell, 80, of Buchtel, passed away Wednesday, February 4th, 2004 at Pine Hills Continuing Care Center in Nelsonville. She was born February 21st, 1923 in Floodwood, Ohio the daughter of the late William and Artie Riser Hall. She was the widow of the late William P. Russell of Buchtel

She was retired from Goodyear after 17 years of work. She was also a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Buchtel.

Melvena is survived by three sons, Paul Virginia Russell of Albany, Rick Rosann Russell of Creola, Ohio, and Vaughn Beverly Russell of Buchtel, Ohio, Ten grandchildren, Michael, Gig, Robin, Heather, Jordan, Scott, Angie, Shawn, Paula, and Andy, 12 great-grandchildren, and a very special cousin, John William Hall. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Tony and John Russell, and a sister, Edna Mae Hartman.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 7th, 2004 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, New Addition. Friends may call Friday, February 6th, 2004 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
