Donna Ruth Leach 64 of Logan died Friday February 6, 2004 at Logan Health Care Center. She was born August 15, 1939 in Hocking Co., daughter of the late John Wesley and Bertha Mildred Lane Schein . She was the widow of the late John Edward Leach who died February 7, 2000.
Donna was the Hocking Co. Recorder with 24 years of service. She worked in the Hocking Co. Courthouse for a total of 35 years starting with the Hocking Co. Commissioners. She then moved to the Auditors Office for 11 years, and became the Hocking Co. Recorder in 1981.
She was a member of Immanuel U.M. Church, the Ohio Recorders Association, she was a past Ohio Recorders Legislative Committee member, the past Southeastern District Recorder Chairperson, she was chairperson of the Hocking Co. Democrat Party, past Hocking Co. Democrat Party Vice Chairperson, she was Central Democratic Committeeman , a member of the Scenic Hills Senior Citizens Council, a past Twig I member, and a member of the Hocking Co. Farm Bureau.
Donna is survived by a son Randy Cherie Leach of Marion, a daughter Sandy Rick Hunt of Logan, 4 grandchildren Brittney and Keri Hunt, Bret and Sam Leach. Two brothers Robert Lila Schein and John Eileen Schein all of Logan. Three sisters Wilma John Conant of Logan, Mary Richard Turner of Logan and Marjorie Patrick Floyd of Union Furnace.
She was preceded in death by a sister Bonnie Neff.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00AM Monday in the Immanuel U.M. Church with Rev.Gerald Frazee officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home 183 E. Second St. Logan Ohio on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8PM and at the church on Monday 1 hour prior to the services.
