Martin Raidel

Martin Raidel, 72, of The Plains, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Kimes Convalescent Center in Athens. He was born March 17th, 1931 in Leshnitz, Romania, the son of the late Johann and Rosina Jung Raidel. He was married to Lavon Raidel for 46 years. She survives.

Martin was a bricklayer for the Altman Company for many years, was a member of the Christ the King Lutheran Church in Athens, a member of the Saxon Club, belonged to the Bricklayers Local #55 for 41 years, was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, and greatly enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and motorcycle enthusiast.

He is survived by three sons, Hans Debbie Raidel of Westerville, Heinz Raidel of Kilbourne, Fritz Amy Raidel of Westerville, daughter Erika Bryan Fuller of Butler, 10 grandchildren, one brother, Johann Raidel of Germany, and a sister, Maria Kandert of Germany.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Martins name be made to the Christ the King Lutheran Church in Athens at 69 Mill Street, Athens Ohio 45701.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at Christ the King Lutheran church, 69 Mill Street, Athens, Ohio, with Pastor Lynn Miller Officiating. Interment will be at New Marshfield Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, February 23rd, 2004 from 5-8 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, located at 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville, Ohio 740 753-1989, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.
