Harriet Mae Juniper

Harriet Mae Juniper, 79, of Nelsonville, passed away Thursday, March 4th, 2004 at her residence in Nelsonville. She was born March 5th, 1924 in Haydenville, the daughter of the late Harry and Grace Groce Locke. She was married to the late Raymond "Gooney" Juniper of Nelsonville.

She retired after 25 years from Stoltz Drug Store. Harriet worked on The Parade of the Hills for over 20 years, she was the first female general chairperson, and held the honor of choosing and recognizing the outstanding Woman of the Year at the Parade of the Hills Ladies Day Breakfast.

Harriet is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Gastin of Nelsonville, Karon Mark Fick of Nelsonville, and Dana Juniper of Atlanta, Grandchildren Brice Lori Fick of Nelsonville, Stephanie Chad ?Gastin? Chapman of Logan, Tom Kristie Pyle of Albany, Amber Pyle of Albany, Tammy Wires of Albany, and a grand cat, Tucker, great grandchildren, Jordan, Sidney, Jesse, Jenny, and Jake, Sister, Kathrine Connell of New Albany.

In addition to her parents and husband, Raymond, she is preceded in death by a son, Thomas D. Pyle, sister, Helen Woody, and very special friend, William Barber.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 8th, 2004 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville, 740 753-1989, with Father Martin Holler and Pastor Michael Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Saturday from 6 to 8 P.M., Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., and Monday from 10 A.M. till the time of service.
