Harvey O. Lenigar

October 5, 1918 — March 17, 2004

Harvey O. Lenigar, 85, of Chauncey, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was born October 5th, 1918 in Pennsville, Ohio, the son of the late George and Cora McDaniel Lenigar.

He was a retired machinist from North American Rockwell, an Army veteran of WWII, was an active member of the AmVets Post 53, an avid gardener, and enjoyed politics.

He is survived by one son, Jeffrey O. Kim Lenigar, a daughter, Pam James Wheatley, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, and a special niece, Shirley O?Nail.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jess and Leonard, and sisters, Trecie, Bessie, Faye, Elsie, Everetta, and Tensie.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions in Harvey?s name be made to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, Georgia, 30368-2454.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Thursday, March 25th, 2004 at Souers- Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, where the Combined Color Guard Unit will conduct military honors. Friends may call Thursday, March 25th, 2004 from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. at the funeral home.
