Roland R. Decker Jr.

Roland R. ?Roadie? Decker Jr., 46, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2004 at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville. He was born May 31, 1957 in Athens County, the son of Betty Elliott Hopstetter of Nelsonville and the late Roland R. Decker Sr.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Roland Decker of Albany, two daughters, Andrea Decker and Amanda Decker both of Athens, four stepchildren Charlie, Rob, George and Shari Maffin all of Athens, three brothers, Randy Decker of Athens, Clifford Decker of Nelsonville and Bill Decker of Buchtel, and three sisters, Lilly Hall of Nelsonville, Carolyn Decker of Buchtel and Audrey Poling of Nelsonville.

He was preceded in death by his father, a son Roland Decker III, a stepfather, Walter Hopstetter and a nephew, David Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 1, 2004 at the United Pentecostal Church, 785 Jackson St., Nelsonville with Rev. Lewis Dunnells and Rev. Ivan Pullin officiating. Interment will be in Conner Cemetery, Buchtel. Friends may call Wednesday, March 31, 2004 from 2-4 to 6-8 P.M. at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
