Shirley R. Newman Engle

Shirley R. Newman Engle, 68, of Buchtel, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. She was born October 5, 1935 in Athens County, the daughter of the late Lloyd ?Blackie? and Ruth Gill North.

Shirley is survived by one son, Trent Newman of Urbana, four daughters, Christi James ?Butch? Lanning of Carbon Hill, Bobbie Rosser of Buchtel, Jackie John Geskie and Candy Edward Berube, both of Homestead, Florida, seventeen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one brother, Robert Ramona North of Murray City and four sisters, Glenna Jim Treadway of Homestead, Florida, Karen Wallace of Nelsonville, Penny Wolf of Buchtel, and Peggy Herbst of Clarksville, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a grandson, Keith Martinez and a son-in-law, Kim Rosser.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 24, 2004 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville, with Pastor Dave Shoemaker officiating. Interment will be in Dew Cemetery, Buchtel. Friends may call Friday, April 23, 2004 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
