Bertha P. Woodson

Bertha Bert P. Woodson, 97, of Nelsonville, passed away Monday, May 10th, 2004 at Pine Hills Nursing Home in Nelsonville. She was born July 2nd, 1906 in Glouster, the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Tabler Payton. She was the widow of the late Cecil Woodson who passed away July 12th, 1975.

Bert was a graduate of the Glouster High School Class of 1924, and attended Ohio University in Athens. After retirement, she worked with the Senior Citizens for 35 years and the Lunch Bunch for six years at the First United Methodist Church in Nelsonville. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Glouster

She is survived by several nephews and nieces, including Ada Woodson Adams, and very special friends Dorothy Gettle, Ellen Prater, Jackie Covert, and Ruth Tedrow.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bert was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 12th, 2004 at Souers- Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, May 12th, 2004 from 12-2 P.M. at the funeral home.
