Carl E. Griggs, 88, of Logan, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital of Logan.
He was born January 1, 1916 near Logan, son of the late Ray and Mary Kishler Griggs. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Geneva Howdyshell Griggs whom he married on January 19, 1941.
Carl was a farmer, an active member in the Ebenezer Baptist Church and also served the community on several boards. He was a member of South Central Electric Power, Perry Co. Soil and Water Conservation, Perry Co. Children?s Services, Perry Co. Farm Bereau, Extension Services Board of Directors and Junction City Banking Co.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a sister Helen John Wilson of Logan; Carol Stimmel Henderson of Rushville; and a host of loyal and beloved neighbors and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., at Ebenezer Baptist Church 7038 Twp. Rd. 234 Logan, with the Rev. Steve Hubbard and Rev. Charles Spier, officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Perry Co.
Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home 183 E. Second St. Logan on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and also on Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church.
