Ruth Bentley

Ruth Bentley, 72, of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2004 at Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville. She was born February 15th, 1932 in Athens County the daughter of the late Noah and Lovetta Manning Fouty. She was married to Damon Bentley on April 30th, 1949. He survives.

Ruth was retired from the Athens County Mental Health Center where she worked as a nurse?s aid. She was a member of the New Life Assembly of God, loved flowers and crochet, and was a devoted mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Roger Penny Bentley of Hebron, Greg Sheri Bentley of Pataskala, Gary Lynda Bentley of Athens, two daughters, Shirley Roger Blevins of Chauncey, Judy Roy Ollom of Vincent, 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, five brothers, Noah Jr. Ann Fouty of Athens, Jerry Fouty of Nelsonville, Don Roberta Fouty of Glouster, Gail Anita Fouty of Nelsonville, and Larry Barb Fouty of Malta.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Bob Fouty.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville, with Rev. Ivan Pullin officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, New Addition in Nelsonville. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
