Donald J. Simmons

Donald J. Simmons, 72, of Westerville, formerly of Nelsonville, passed away Monday, May 31, 2004 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was retired from Kokosing Construction after 37 years of service, was a veteran of the United States Army, and was a member of Carpenter Local 200.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna Jean Carpenter Simmons, two daughters, Tina Mark Zinn and Kelly Ervin; one son, Terry Simmons, grandchildren Ron Sara White, Amanda Scott Withrow, Geoff and Stacy Ervin, Shawn Jennifer and Shane Lindy Simmons, Mackenzie Campion; great grandchildren, Aline and Madison Withrow, Damian, Keila and Jacob Simmons; Sister Donna Belle Harley Fiddler; sister-in-law Marian Simmons and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Merle PeeWee and Carol Simmons; Two sons, Clay and Tracy, and a brother, Jack Simmons.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Riverside/Grant, 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43214 in Don?s memory.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Monday, June 7th, 2004 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville. Calling hours will be Sunday, June 6th from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Calling hours will also be observed Friday, June 4th, at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 east Schrock Road, Westerville.
