Timothy D. Jerman, 46, of Logan, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2004, at his residence.
He was born June 25, 1957, son of the late Bernard and Brenda Wilson Jerman. He was married to Marco Jerman of Logan.
Tim is a renowned independent glass artist. He used the flameworking technique to create his glass sculpture. As a junior in high school, he was allowed to enter the glass program at Kent State University under Glass Master Henry Halem. In 1978 he moved to Hocking Hills to open a glass studio with Nick Delmatto. In 1981 Tim suffered a spinal cord injury in an auto accident and continued to create glass thereafter. His work has been published in Contemporary Lampworking, Volumes I & II and Contemporary Lampworking 2nd edition by Bandhu Scott Dunham, and in Flameworking by Elizabeth Ryland Mears. In April 1999, Tim demonstrated at the International Glass Arts Society in Tampa, Fl. He has two sculptures displayed in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Renwick Gallery of the National Museum of American Art.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Tobin Hathaway Frey of Seward, Alaska; a daughter, Adria I. Jerman of Athens; a brother, Chris Jerman of Newark.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother David Jerman.
