Cleola Madge Power

Cleola Madge Power, 98, of Nelsonville, formerly of Friendship Village in Columbus, passed away Sunday July 11th, 2004 at Pine Hills Continuing Care Center in Nelsonville. She was born August 24th, 1905 in Monday, Ohio, the daughter of the late Stephen W. and Ella Mae Clary Barber. She was married to the late Otis D. Power who passed away in 1947.

Cleola attended the Friendship Village Church of Columbus, was an avid Reds and Clippers fan, and was a very independent, self made lady.

She is survived by a brother in law, John Shumaker of Columbus, sisters in law Phyllis Barber of Murray City, Jeanette Barber of Nelsonville, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Cleola was preceded in death by an infant daughter Joreen, Brothers; Frank, Delbert, Ralph, Stephen Jr., and Garrett, Sisters; Grace Darling, Hazel Bess, and Fern Shumaker.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 15th, at 1:00 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Thursday from 11-1 P.M. at the funeral home.
