William ?Bill? R. White

William ?Bill? R. White, 76, of Buchtel, passed away Wednesday, July 21st, 2004 at his residence. He was born September 1st, 1927 in Buchtel, the son of the late William and Mary Sheskey White. He was married to Josephine ?Jo? Fydroski White. She survives.

Bill was currently employed by the Ohio Department of Education.

He was a Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Moose Lodge, the American Legion, VFW, Eagles, Athens Elks #973, a member of St. Mary?s of the Hills Catholic Church, the Buckeye Association of School Administrators, was the past superintendent of schools for Trimble and Federal Hocking, and taught school and coached at Harrisonville, Carbon Hill and Union Furnace.

In addition to his wife Jo, he is survived by a son Mike Debbie White of Nelsonville, grandchildren Melissa Chad Warren, Michelle and Chris White, all of Nelsonville, three sisters, Anne McDonald of Delaware, Patricia Kenneth Turner of Columbus, and Barbara Billy Ray Wilkinson of Kentucky.

In Lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions in Bill?s name be made to the Trimble Local Textbook Foundation, P.O. Box 187, Glouster, Ohio 45732.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary?s of the Hills Catholic Church, with Father John Mucha officiating. Interment will be at St. Patricks Cemetery, Buchtel, where a military graveside service will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call Saturday from 6-8 and Sunday from 2-8 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. A wake service will be held Sunday at 2:30 P.M., followed by an Elks service at 7:30 P.M.
