Waneta M. Kennard

Waneta M. Kennard, 80, of Nelsonville, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. She was born August 4, 1923 in Oak Grove the daughter of the late Charles and Laura Davis Hartman. She was married to the late Paul M. Kennard who passed away February 28, 2000.

She a graduate of Buchtel High School.

She is survived by a son, Robert Susan Kennard of Gallipolis; three daughters, Pricsilla Hamilton of Tampa, Florida, Paula John Hutchison of Athens, Lorrie Jeff Knies of Lovingston, Virginia; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Garnet Johnson of Belpre, Donna Wilbur McLean of Athens, Evelyn Marecki of Florida; a sister-in-law, Betty Thompson of Logan and a special nephew, Neal Sharon Allen of Nelsonville.

In addition to her parents and husband, Waneta was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Kennard; a brother, Wilbert Hartman; sisters, Mona Lee Merriman, Norma Heightland, Beatrice Allen, Edith Bobo and infant sister, Phyllis Hartman.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville with Rev. David Cogar officiating. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery, Hocking County. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
