James C. Stump

James C. Stump, 72 of Logan, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at OSU Medical Center, Columbus. He was born May 30, 1932 in South Perry, son of the late Merle W. and Mable Bailey Stump. He was married to Coletta M. Poling Stump whom survives.

James was a retired Master Carpenter, a veteran of the Navy serving in the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Logan Amvets post 1776 and Logan Moose Lodge 873. He was a loving husband and father.

He is survived by 1 son David Stump of Logan; 1 daughter Linda Art Potter of Groveport; 2 grandchildren Brian Sarah Potter of Groveport and J.R. Potter of Groveport; 1 great grandchild A.J. Potter of Groveport; 1 brother Merle Ruth Stump Jr. of Logan; 5 sisters Opal Nutter of Columbus, Helen Joe Fuime of Laurelville, Lavona Blankenship of Logan, Joyce Jim Frasure of Logan and Kathrine Paul Schrader of Logan; 1 sister-in-law Angelike Stump of Logan and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by 1 brother George Stump and 1 sister Betty Yates.

At the request of Mr. Stump, he will be cremated and there will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM on August 7, 2004 at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, on State Route 664 North with Rev. Larry Poling officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Military services will be conducted by the Combined Veterans Burial Detail of Hocking County. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second Street, Logan Ohio 43138.
