Venus M. Thompson

Venus M. Thompson, 80, of Nelsonville, passed away Friday, September 10, 2004 at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville. She was born August 25, 1924 in Athens County the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Edna L. Spencer Reynolds

She was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of the VFW ladies auxiliary.

She is survived by one son, Mark F. Diane McGuire of Nelsonville; two daughters, Sharon K. Tom Ryan of Athens, Carolyn Sue Texas Willison of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Jay Kline, Matt Kline, Misty Lee, Kristina McGuire, and Ryan McGuire; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Thomas W. Reynolds of North Royalton; a sister, Rosemary Jack Bornhoeft of Westerville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Venus was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katrina Taggart, a twin sister, Vera Reynolds and two brothers, John and Jerry Reynolds.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville, with Pastor David Shoemaker officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
