Donald E. Fink, 78, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2004 at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville. He was born December 21, 1925 in Athens County, the son of the late John M. and Nellie Cheadle Fink. He was married to Shirley Larimer Fink of Nelsonville for 53 years.

Don was a well known builder and contractor in the area. He was the retired owner of Don Fink Builder, Nelsonville and he was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Nelsonville United Methodist Church. He loved automobiles, trucks and motorcycles and was an avid wood craftsman.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; four nephews, Wayne Hunley, Arthur Hunley, Thomas Carroll and Thomas Larimer; and two nieces, Jamie Birkmeyer and Rita Bullock.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dale Edward Fink, a brother, Johnny Fink and three sisters, Hazel Hunley, Marie Vania and Violet Carroll.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 30 at 11:00 A.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville with Rev. Stacy Evans officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan where a military graveside service will be conducted by the Combined Veterans Burial Detail of Hocking County. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
