Raymond Mays

April 12, 1930 — October 18, 2004

Raymond F. ?Ram Cat? Mays, 74, of Logan, passed away Monday, October 18, 2004, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born April 12, 1930, in Sand Run, son of the late James Edward and Bertha Alice Hughes Mays. He was the widower of Janet Marshall Bentley Mays who died in 2001.
Raymond served in the United States Air Force and was retired from Carborundum and Logan Clay Products.
He is survived by a son, Gary Bentley; two grandsons, Gary Gina Bentley Jr. and Brian Marion Bentley; two brothers, William Lester Harriet Mays and Kenneth Earl Mays; two sisters, Bessie V. Mays and Irene E. Mays McKinley Ivor Lehman all of Logan; sister-in-law, Judy Diehl of Athens; special nephew Carl G. McKinley of Logan; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a son, Jim Bentley; five brothers, Robert, Donald, Glenn, Jim and Dale Mays; one sister, Gale Mays; two nephews, Paul and John Mays.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home 183 E. Second St. Logan, with the Rev. Rick Bennington, officiating. Interment will be in Scott?s Creek Cemetery, Logan.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Graveside military rites will be performed by the Combined Veterans of Hocking County.
