Barbara Ann Russell, 65, of Nelsonville, passed away Monday, October 18, 2004 at O?Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens. She was born July 3rd, 1939 in Athens County, the daughter of the late Asa and Thelma Tolliver Pickett. She was married to Elmo Smith who passed away in 1965, and Edward Russell who died in 1983.

Barbara is survived by two sons, Patrick Sandie Russell of Nelsonville, Jerry Sue Russell of Indiana, two daughters, Kelly Mike Janes of Jacksonville, Shannon Jim Donaldson of The Plains, grandchildren Jesi, Austin, Jack, Eddie, J.T., Jeri, Timmy, Kelly, John, Megan, and Kenny, two brothers Ronnie Mary Pickett of Nelsonville, Asa ?Junior? Shirley Pickett of Nelsonville, one sister, Judy Pickett of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers Bill and Jimmy Pickett, sisters Mary Jane Pickett, Maxine DeLong, Phylis Holland, and Florea Farley.

At Barbara?s request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Souers-Cardaras funeral home 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville.
