Bill Lester Edwards

Bill Lester Edwards Sr., 74 of Nelsonville died October 29, 2004 in Logan Health Care Center. He was born April 5, 1930 in Union Furnace, son of the late Lester Dell and Gladys Forrest Pargeon Edwards. He was married to Marlene Hill Edwards who survives.

Bill was a Navy Veteran, serving in Korea and Vietnam where he was awarded a Bronze Star with a Combat ?V?. He also retired from the Navy in 1968 and retired from Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric in 1985.

He is survived by 2 sons Bill Sandy Edwards Jr. of Altoona, Pa., and Scott Susan Edwards of Nelsonville. 2 daughters Donna Rick Webb of Logan and Brenda Edwards of Mascoutah, Illinois. He has 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, 3 brothers Jack Edwards of Nelsonville, Donald, Sharon Edwards of Frostproof, Florida, and Oscar Susie Edwards of Nelsonville. 3 sisters Doris Hopkins of Nelsonville, Jean Summers of Logan and Charlene Donald Fuller of New Plymouth.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Wayne and Ray Edwards and 1 sister Mary Grinstead.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St. Logan, Ohio with Richard Stevens officiating. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8PM and on Wednesday 1 hour prior to the services.

Military Graveside Services will be conducted by the Hocking Co. Combined Color Guard Unit.
