Sharon Kay Bowers

Sharon Kay Bowers, 58, of Nelsonville, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2004 at her residence. She was born December 25, 1945 in Logan, Ohio, the daughter of Marcella Jane Gillilan Dorst of Nelsonville.

Sharon was formerly employed at Goodyear, Logan and Hocking College. She loved her grandchildren and she enjoyed sewing and made and repaired many things for many of her family and friends. She attended the Buchtel United Methodist Church.

Sharon is survived by her mother, Marcella; a son, Donald Bowers Mary Ann Bowers of Buchtel; three daughters, Barb Chris Kistner, Cara Phillip Beeman Bowers and Angela Mohney all of Grove City; two stepdaughters, Pamela Tony Sullivan and Cheryl Jerry Higgins both of Buchtel; eleven grandchildren, Billy, Taylor, Joe, Cheri, Sara, Jessica, Sarah, Nicole, Jarred, Addison and Marcella; a sister, Janie Spring of Logan; former husband, Donald Bowers of Grove City; two nephews, Randy Cullison and Michael Spring both of Logan and a special friend, Marcie Elliott of Buchtel.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, R.M. and Maude Stage Gillilan.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 31, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street Nelsonville, with Pastor David Shoemaker officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
