John H. Jacobs

John H. Jacobs, 88, of Nelsonville, passed away Wednesday, December 29th, 2004 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. He was born November 29th, 1916 in Morgan County, Ohio, the son of the late Melvin and Cornelius Price Jacobs. He was married to the late Mable White Jacobs.

John was a dedicated member of the National Rifle Association, loved hunting for raccoons, and greatly enjoyed playing cards.

He is survived by two sons, George Angie O?Rourke Jacobs of Carbondale, and David Jacobs of Athens, three daughters, Grace Spurrier of West Virginia, Roberta George Delrymple of Woodsfield, and Jane Jacobs of West Union, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, a sister in law Angie Jacobs of Glouster, and a very special Dog named Bud.

In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by a daughter Rose, special companion of 30 years Naomi Brooks, and brothers Frank and Miles.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 3rd, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street Nelsonville. Internment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
