Dwight ?Whitey? ?Herm? Viney, 83, of New Straitsville, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2005, at Good Samaritan Medical Center, Zanesville.
He was born May 29, 1921, in Glouster, son of the late James and Mary Viney Kirby.
Dwight worked in various coal mines and also hauled coal.
He is survived by two brothers, James H. Alyce Kirby and Kenneth Wayne Carolyn Kirby both of Zanesville; two sisters, Betty Franklin of Portsmouth, RI and Gertrude Jack Morgan of Zanesville; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Bernadine Keels and Shirley Wilson and his grandparents, Henry and Gertrude Viney.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home 30 Main St. Glouster, with Pastor Charles L. Mayle Sr., officiating. Interment will be in Glouster Cemetery, Glouster.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
