Claude Franklin Davis<br><br>Claude Franklin Davis, 73, of Coolville, passed away January 11th, 2005 at <br>his residence. He was born January 4th, 1932 in Stewart, Ohio the son of <br>the late Benson and Martha Vaness Davis. He was married to Betty Tippie <br>Davis for 42 years. She survives.<br><br>Claude was retired from the Army after 22 years of service to his country, <br>and early in his enlistment, was a member of the Navy. He was a veteran of <br>the Korean and Vietnam Wars, was a lifetime member of AMVETS and the VFW, <br>loved fishing, and was a devoted grandpa, loving husband and father<br><br>He is survived by two sons, Bill Tippie and Bob Tippie of Coolville, two <br>grandchildren, Aaron and Courtney Tippie of Nelsonville, two brothers, Bob <br>Davis of Columbus and Jim Davis of Athens, one sister, Vickie James Jarvis <br>of Stewart, and special friends, Gene Ruby Hill, David Gates, Gene Tara <br>Hill II, and Lora Burgy.<br><br>In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his brothers, <br>John, Price, and Tom, sisters Norma and Mary, and a Grandson, Brandon.<br><br>Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15th at 10:00 A.M. at <br>Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street Nelsonville with Pastor <br>Sheldon Johnson officiating. Internment will be at Stewart Cemetery. <br>Military rites will be performed by the Athens American Legion Post 21, <br>Athens V.F.W. Post 3477, and Albany V.F.W. Post 9893. Friends may call one <br>hour prior to the services at the funeral home.<br><br>
