Frank Leroy Standall Sr.

August 29, 1927 — January 24, 2005

Frank L. Standall Sr., 77, of Nelsonville, passed away Monday, January 24, 2005 at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville. He was born August 29, 1927 in Nelsonville, the son of the late George Thomas Sr. and Maggie Mae Whitmore Standall. He was married to Jean Cooley Standall, who survives, for 56 years.

Frank was owner and operator of Standall Vacuum Cleaner Sales and Service. He was a 1946 graduate of Nelsonville High School and he loved Nelsonville High School Sports. He was an avid fan of all sports and he loved gardening. He never missed a Nelsonville football or basketball game and he attended all of his grandchildren?s sporting events as they were growing up.

In addition to his wife, Jean, he is survived by a son, Frank Alice Standall Jr. of Nelsonville; three daughters, Connie Rodney Call of Nelsonville, Debbie Mike Corder of Haydenville, and Linda Jerry Dodd of Columbus, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Brian and Mark Call, Andrea, Gerald Jr. and Derek Dodd and Amy, Ashley and Alison Standall; three step-grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; a niece, Cheryl Six; a sister-in-law, Martha Sines and a brother-in-law, William L. Cooley, Jr.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by a sister, Betty J. Wallace and a brother, George Thomas Standall Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street Nelsonville with Pastor Michael Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
