John E. Coakley

John E. Coakley, 59, of Nelsonville, passed away Monday, January 31, 2005 at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville. John was born November 1, 1945 in Marietta, the son of the late Vern ?Snap? and Evelyn Morris Coakley.

John was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Nelsonville Elks Lodge BPOE #543.

He is survived by a brother, William Norma Palmer of Logan; two nieces, Debbie Joe Nudo and Laura Bruce Swigart all of Athens; a nephew, Keith Connie Palmer of Athens and special friends, Debbie Cliff Eckenroad of Nelsonville.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville. Interment will be at Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home where an Elks Service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions in John?s memory be made to the charitable organization of your choice.
