George Sharb, 83, of Haydenville, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan. George was born November 28, 1921 in Lorain, the son of the late Oprea and Marie Ardleine Sharb. He was married to Annabelle Lanning Sharb, who survives, for 46 years.
George was a retired truck driver; a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and he attended the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by five sons, John Lisa Lanning of Logan, George Sharb Jr. of Columbus, Vaughn Brenda Sharb of Logan, Joe Georgian Sharb of Logan and Rudy Sharb of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Elizabeth Wright and Theresa Dan Long both of Logan; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two brothers, Virgil ?Jack? Phyllis Bush Sharb and Gideon Katie Sharb both of Logan and a sister, Mary Ann Tom Brown of Sandusky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Sharb and Victor Sharb and a sister, Virginia Champ.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville with Pastor Michael Thomas officiating. Interment will be at New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge where a miltary graveside service will be conducted by the Combined Veterans of Hocking County Burial Detail. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
