Austin R. Harbarger, 93, of Logan, passed away April 29, 2005, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in the Skilled Nursing Unit of Logan.
He was born December 2, 1911, in Athens Co., son of the late James Lewis and Anna Pearce Harbarger. He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years F. Louise Moorehead Harbarger.
Austin was a retired co owner of Harbarger Plumbing in Logan for over 50 years, member of Immanuel United Methodist Church for over 50 years, charter member of the Immanuel United Methodist Men in Logan, member of the Mingo Lodge #171 for over 50 years, and a charter member of the Hocking Co. Fish & Game Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Judy Daryll Bacus of Logan; three granddaughters, Tammy Dave Burgess of Lancaster, Missy Jay Poling of Logan and Wendy Arthur David of Pittsburg, PA; six great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Harbarger of Logan; sister-in-law, Alice Harbarger of Logan; and devoted caregiver Janice Bullock of Nelsonville.
He is preceded in death by a son, Joe P. Harbarger; grandson, Timothy Harbarger; four brothers, Melvin, William ?Bill?, Belford and Walter Harbarger; two twin sisters, Venice Deyo and Eunice Lear.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home 183 E. Second St. Logan, with the Rev. Gerald Frazee, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Masonic services will be held Monday at 6:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
