Alston I. ?Abe? Hoover, 81, of Hideaway Hills, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2005 at his residence. He was born December 25, 1923 in Franklin County, the son of the late Alston I. and Phoebe Helen Miller Hoover. He was married to Mary L. ?Pat? Schneider Hoover, who survives, for 55 years.

He was retired from Columbia gas where he was a welder and was a WW II U.S. Navy veteran. He attended Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Fort Seybert, West Virginia and was a member of the Ruritan club in West Virginia.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bob Barb Hoover of Seattle, WA; two daughters, Bev Norris of Logan and Marilyn Wyatt of Hideaway Hills; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Herbert Wanda Hoover of Phoenix, AZ and John Evelyn Hoover of Upper Sandusky; a sister, Janet Casey of Columbus and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lowell Hoover and a sister, Margaret Hull.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan. At Mr. Hoover?s request, he will be cremated. Friends may call Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
