Doris Ann Mellinger Brown

Doris Ann Mellinger Brown, 70, of The Plains, passed away Tuesday, May 10th, 2005 at Logan Health Care Center in Logan. Doris was born December 17, 1934 in Nelsonville, the daughter of the late William B. and Enid E. Burge Mellinger She was the former spouse of Dana Lee Brown of The Plains. He survives.

Doris enjoyed gardening and flowers. She played the clarinet and softball during High School in Buchtel, was an avid clock collector, and loved the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley.

She is survived by one daughter, Teri Ann David Smith of Athens, two brothers, Gerald M. Mellinger of Athens County, and Jerry ?Ike? Lynda Mellinger of Logan, and five nephews, Jerry Lee, Matthew, Christopher, Tyler, and Billy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death two brothers, Junior Lee Mellinger and Billy Gene Mellinger.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Doris? honor to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 651 G Lakeview Plaza Blvd., Worthington, OH 43085.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13th, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Friday, one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
