Larry L. Carr

Larry L. Carr, 68, of Chauncey, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He was born November 25, 1936 in Nelsonville, the son of the late John and Marie DeLong Carr. He was married to his wife, Norma J. Dicken Carr for 49 years. She survives.

Larry worked for Hocking Valley Concrete for 39 years, was a Naval Korean War Veteran, President of the Golden Wings for 13 years, a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Nelsonville, Athens County Shrine, Valley of Cambridge, Aladdin Shriners, and the Masons of Ohio Lodge 0557.

He is survived by one son, John L. Mel Carr of Logan, one daughter, Deborah Scott Lambert of The Plains, six grandchildren, brothers Don Carr of Guysville, David Donna Carr of Pickerington, sisters Jo Jim Bartlette of Groveport, Betty Don Whicker of Enon, Ruth Bill Macdermott of Tulluhoma, Tennessee, his very special dog Heidi, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers John and Alva Carr, and sisters Edith Call and Lucille Dixon.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville with Reverend Lewis Dunnells officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Interment will be in Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
