Russ Adams Jr.

Russ Adams Jr., 55 of Nelsonville, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville. He was born April 27, 1950 in Athens County, the son of the late Russell K. and Wilma Rutter Adams. He is survived by his fiancée, Mary Jo Edwards of Nelsonville.

Russ enjoyed western movies and books, and his three dogs, Skip, Bear and Daisy. He was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam Era, and worked as a long haul truck driver most of his life.

He is survived by one son, Rusty Adams III of Nelsonville, two daughters, Susan Jason Conrad of Amanda, and Mary Adams who is stationed in Baghdad, Iraq, six of his fiancee?s grandchildren, Austin, Bryce, Caitlynn, Danielle, Joseph, and Breanna, one brother, Bill Adams of Heath, four sisters, Mary Dick Huddy of Nelsonville, Beck Mike Cain of Nelsonville, Carol Larry Fultz of Kentucky, and Cindy Tony Neel of Nelsonville, three step-sisters Shirley Pickett, Jean McCombs, and Les Cox, his step-Mother, Mary Catherine Adams and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street Nelsonville with Pastor Michael Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Connett Cemetery. Military services will be performed by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
