Gary Lynn Hook

Gary L. Hook, 61, of Nelsonville, passed away Friday, September 23, 2005, at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville. He was born March 8, 1944 in Logan, Ohio, son of the late Harley and Adrienne Weaver Hook. Gary was married to Bonnie Roberts Hook of Nelsonville, for twenty years.

He retired from Hocking Correctional Facility and was a member of the Nelsonville Elks #543 and VFW Post 3467. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was an avid outdoorsman.

In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by three sons, Joel Christy Hook of Glouster, Richard Sonya Bruce of Nelsonville and Shane Sara Bruce of Nelsonville; three daughter Joan Tony Moler of Nelsonville, Annette Morrison of Nelsonville and Angela Hook; fifteen grandchildren; one brother, Keith Ursula Hook of Germany and one sister Linda Sue Bob Newman of Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Michael Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville where a military graveside service will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call Tuesday, September 27, 2005, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home where an Elks service will be conducted at 7:30 PM.
