Harry A. Whitcraft

March 26, 1933 — November 21, 2005

Harry A. Whitcraft, 72, of Logan, passed away Monday, November 21, 2005 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital. He was born March 26, 1933, in Gibisonville, Ohio, son of the late Creighton and Edna Anderson Whitcraft. Harry was married to Marilyn Y. Glaspell Whitcraft for 46 years who survives.

Harry retired from Columbus Heating and Ventilation in 1994, and previously was employed at Carl T. Johnson Company in Logan. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and a 1951 graduate of the former Gibisonville High School where he was an All-Ohio guard in basketball. He was inducted into the Logan High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1977. He was a kind and caring man, he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by two daughters, Wanda Richard McLaughlin and Mindy Brian Camechis both of Logan; five grandchildren, Bobby, Kristen, Ryan, and Loryn Cassady and Weston Camechis all of Logan; two brothers Leonard Irene Whitcraft and Robert Mary Lou Whitcraft, all of Rockbridge; one sister Allene Charles Redick of Logan; two sister in laws, Mae and Wavelene Whitcraft, two brother-in-laws, Gary Pat Glaspell, and John Huffines. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by his sister Lillian Gerald Hampshire-Huffines, brothers Lester and Clyde Whitcraft, a half brother Thurman Anderson, and sister-in-law Pat Glaspell.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M Friday, November 25, 2005, at Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St. Logan, with Rev. Clarence Thompson officiating. Interment will be at New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the time of services. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Hocking County Combined Veterans Organizations.
