David E. Travis Sr., 68, of Logan, passed away Friday, December 23, 2005, at his residence. He was born December 23, 1937, in Columbus, son of the late Arthur and Thelma Termeer Travis Sr.. He was married to Irene Perrine Travis of Logan.
David was a retired Logan City Fireman serving for over 24 years, owner of Dave Travis Construction and a member of Rock Church on Blackjack Rd.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, David E. Travis Jr. and Walter A. Travis both of Logan; a daughter, Robin Belcher of Logan; four grandchildren, David Travis III, Jerad Lee Travis, Danielle Nicole Belcher and Krista Jacklyn Belcher; four brothers, Tom Travis of Logan, Ronald Travis of Fostoria, Ray Travis of Logan and John Travis of Columbus; two sisters, Margie Huffines of Logan and Lorena Browning of New Straitsville..
He is preceded in death by a son Derwin Travis; a brother, Arthur Travis; a sister, Marlene Copenhaver.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home 183 E. Second St. Logan, with the Rev. Scott Huffines, officiating. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery, Hocking County.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Graveside military services will be conducted by the Combined Veterans Burial Detail of Hocking County.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to U.S. Bank in the name of Dave Travis to help with expenses.
