Maxine Horn

July 14, 1910 — February 8, 2006

Maxine Horn, 95, of Westerville, formerly of Glouster, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at Manor Care Convalescent Center, Westerville. She was born July 14, 1910, in Athens County, daughter of the late Fred P. and Hettie Shaner Thompson. Maxine was survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert Horn who resides in Westerville.

She was a member of the Glouster Church of Christ and graduated from the first graduating class at Hollister High School in 1927. Maxine was a former member of the Nelsonville Emblem Club, and retired as a cashier at the former A&P store in Glouster where she worked for 27 years.

In addition to her husband, Maxine was survived by one son, Terry Patricia Holbert of Glouster, one daughter Alice Kay Dr. Tom E. Pappas of Westerville, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and two sisters, Fola Mawhorter of Summit Station Ohio, and Lucy Finley of Peewaukee, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Ralph D. Holbert, three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2006, at Cardaras Funeral Home, 30 Main St., Glouster, Ohio with Greg Holbert officiating. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
