Luther S. Herron

Luther S. Herron, 73, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at Doctors Hospital, Nelsonville. He was born May 25, 1932, in South Perry, Ohio, son of the late Ralph Nelson Stevens and Grace Stevens. Luther was married to Anna Jane Bell Herron who resides in Nelsonville.

He worked as a truck driver for Armco Steel, was a Korean War Veteran, and was a member of the Nelsonville VFW.

In addition to his wife, Luther is survived by three sons, Steve Anita Herron, Jim Kim Herron, and Scott Maryann Herron all of Logan, one daughter Christy Roger Sayre of Jersey City, New Jersey, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother Charles Stevens of Lancaster and several nieces and nephews.

Luther is preceded in death by his birth parents as well as his adopted parents, John and May Herron, three brothers Don, Jack, and Jesse Stevens, two sisters Ruby and Annabelle, two half sisters Martha and Esther Herron, and three infant grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 7 PM Friday, February 17, 2006, at Souers Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville, with Mike McGuire officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the funeral home, where a military memorial service will be held at 6 PM with cremation to follow.
