Vera Marie Self Peacock

Vera Marie Self Peacock, 82, of Nelsonville, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 17, 2006 at Doctors Hospital West in Columbus. She was surrounded by her loving family as she made her journey home.

She was born January 22nd, 1924 in Bristol, Ohio to the late Frank and Mary Forest Self. She retired from Clark?s Restaurant in Jacksontown, and moved to Nelsonville in 1984. She was a member of the Murray City United Methodist Church.

Vera is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Edward Peacock; children Larry Kay Peacock of Newark, Glenna Sanborn of Hebron, Susie Oscar Edwards of Nelsonville, Donald Sharon Peacock of Newark, eleven Grandchildren, twelve Great Grandchildren, sister, Fern Miller and Rema Bob Roberts of New Straitsville, and several nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Jackie Covert of Nelsonville.

In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her siblings Margaret Severing Clark, James Self, Clyde Self, Ralph Self, Charles Self, Francis ?Duke? Self, Helen Peacock, and a grandchild, Jerry Wolf.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 21st, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville, with Reverend Ernie Perkins officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of the Old Rugged Cross at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
