Jack Johnson

Jack R. Johnson, 59, of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2006. He was born May 17, 1946 in Nelsonville, the son of the late Clarence and Vaundell Sampsill Johnson. He was married to Susan Dickerson Johnson of Nelsonville, who survives.

Jack was a retired Iron Worker with Union Local 172. He attended Jobs Methodist Church and the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Logan Moose Lodge, Nelsonville Eagles and the Mingo Lodge #171 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Temple Shrine, Columbus, Hocking Hills Shrine Club and Thea Chapter #192 O.E.S., Trimble.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by Jack Renee Johnson Jr. of Baltimore; three step daughters, Jammie Lee Sedwick of Albany, Connie Hans Zwahlen of Athens, Heather Jessie Daniels of Columbus, ten grandchildren, Whitney, Morgan, Jack III, Isaac, Jerrika, Jessica, Alex, Tyler, Kiersten and Lydia; a great grandson, Chandler; four brothers, Bob Marchetta Johnson of Nelsonville, Clyde Nancy Johnson of Union Furnace, Carl Bev Johnson of Nelsonville and Denver Sue Johnson of Nelsonville; four sisters, Marilyn Johnson of Logan, Darlene Bob Martin of New Plymouth, Patty Howson of New Marshfield and Delores Storts of Nelsonville, sister-in-law Mary Johnson of Nelsonville; many nieces and nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Jim ?Junior? and Arthur ?Dutch? Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville with Rev. Michael Thomas and Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home where a Masonic service will be held Wednesday at 7:30 PM.
