Helen Nicholson

Helen Nicholson, 92, of Chauncey, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Doctors Hospital, Nelsonville. She was born May 4, 1913 in Nelsonville, daughter of the late Walter E. and Delphia White Skivers. Helen was the widow of the late Joseph Nicholson.

She was a member of the Chauncey Christian Church and the Chauncey Senior Citizens Club. Helen graduated from Nelsonville High School and she and her husband were the owners and operators of the Nicholson Grocery in Chauncey.

Helen is survived by two sons Joe Deborah Nicholson of The Plains, and William D. Becky Nicholson of Lithopolis, one daughter Janet Charles R. Riley of Logan, eight grandchildren, Joseph Michael Nicholson, Tamara Jo Kyle, Merissa Nicholson, Dee Stebelton, Craig Nicholson, Phil Riley, Ashleigh Johnson, and Brandy Cassidy, fifteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, one sister Donna Skivers of The Plains, one sister Donna Skivers of The Plains, special friends Sylvia Wadley, Donna Baggs, and Aretta Locke, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson William Dennis Nicholson Jr., three brothers Clarence, Dale, and Mervin Skivers, and three sisters Bernice Ferrell, Bauneda Kasler, and Norma Locke.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 17th, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, April 15, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
