Charles E. Winchell Sr.

Charles E. Winchell Sr., 70, of Nelsonville, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville. He was born July 21, 1935 in Athens County, the son of the late Ruben and Viola Coleman Winchell. He was married to Delores Chilcote Winchell, who passed away previously.

Charles was an Army Veteran and served in Hawaii during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by two sons, Charles Winchell Jr., of Nelsonville and David Winchell of Nelsonville, two daughters, Sharon Winchell of Princeton, WVa, and Sherry Mike Arnold of Nelsonville, 11 granchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, one sister, Donna Jean Graham of Carrolton, TX.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Ronald, one daughter Sheila, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Graveside funeral services will be held at a later date at the convienience of the family. In accordance with Charles? wishes, he has been cremated. Military graveside services will be performed by the Combined Color Guard, also at a later date. In-urnment will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville.
