Don E. Martin, 66, of Carbon Hill, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2006 at his residence. He was born November 28, 1939 in Sand Run, the son of the late Raymond and Ruth Dawley Martin. He was the widow of the late Judith Lynn Nott Martin.

Don was retired from Hanings Heating and Cooling in Lancaster. He was a member of the Carbon Hill Christian Church, a charter member of the Ward Township Volunteer Fire Department and an avid supporter of Nelsonville-York High School Athletics.

He is survived by a son, Kevin Lisa Martin of Carbon Hill; three daughters, Brenda Jim Johnson of Carbon Hill, Linda Jo Martin of Nelsonville, Mary Ann Jeremy Withem of Carbon Hill; eight grandchildren, Nick Valerie, Rachael, Joseph, Nathan, Brooke, Courtney, Jacob and Holly; a great granddaughter, Emily; seven brothers and sisters, Earl Ann Martin of Carbon Hill, Betty Fout of Logan, Norma Raymond Smyers of Lancaster, Rex Bonnie Martin of Logan, Gene Christy Martin of Carbon Hill, Dale Donna Martin of Carbon Hill and Leo Ada Nash Martin of Logan, a friend, Sue McGuire of Carbon Hill and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville with Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Carbon Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-8 PM.
