Marina Lee Hitchings-Winterbotham

Marina Lee Hitchings Winterbotham, 53, of New Marshfield, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains. She was born November 4, 1952 in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of Donna Frank Hutchins Lopez of Nelsonville and the late Jack Lee Hitchings.

Marina was a longtime employee of the Kroger Company, a 1971 graduate and salutatorian of Nelsonville York High School, a member of the Nelsonville Presbyterian church and a member of the Ladybug Group.

She is survived by a son, Charles Scott Winterbotham; a daughter, Kasey Winterbotham and a granddaughter, Olivia all of New Marshfield; a brother, Jack Maria Hitchings of Hampton, Virginia; three sisters, Tina Brad Harter Romine of Athens, Ginger Johnson and Terrie Hitchings, both of The Plains; former husband, Charles Winterbotham of Nelsonville; close friend, Kathy Ferns and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Appalachian Community Hospice, Hickory Creek Nursing Center and all of Marina?s friends and family for their care and support during her long illness.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 7, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville with Rev. Harold McConnell officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 6-8 PM.
