Irene E. Bumgardner

Irene E. Bumgardner, 85, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains. She was born Jan 22, 1921 in Murray City, daughter of the late Louis and Mary Needenmier Horvath. Irene was married to the late Donald W. Bumgardner.

She was an avid gardener who loved her roses and her grandchildren.

Irene is survived by four daughters Pat Fred Gibson of The Plains, Barb Corrigan of Columbus, Deb Cliff Eckenroad of Nelsonville and Sandie Horrocks of Nelsonville; eight grandchildren, Shellie, Shane, Cory, Dave, Ed, Brooke, Ryan, and Bryan; six great grandchildren Dean, Taylor, Devin, Riley, Grace and Drew; brother-in-law Kenny Bumgardner and two sisters-in-law Sue Bumgardner of Grove City and Eula Horvath of Nelsonville.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers Joseph, Louis, Tony and Frank Horvath and two sisters Margaret McClary and Helen Waldeck.

Funeral liturgy with mass will be held Friday, July 7, 2006 at 10 A.M. at St. Mary of the Hills Catholic Church, Buchtel with Father John Mucha officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery New Addition, Nelsonville. Friends may call at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville on Thursday from 4-7 PM.
